Style Moments | 2010 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards Red Carpet was by far the most daring and most exciting of the season. Would you expect any less from some of the most creative minds in entertainment? Here are my top picks for the night:

Rihanna
When I first saw Rihanna in the 360 cam on E!'s red carpet pre-show in this Elie Saab creation, I was skeptical. When she took the stage to accept her award for best collaboration with JayZ ... I was floored. She was a vision in cream! Fashion-forward, perfect color for her skin tone, great fit to show off her figure without being vulgar and the Neil Lane jewels were the perfect frosting for this look. LOVED it!!!

Mary J. Blige
I think Mary is having one of her best fashion year's ever. Following her impeccable appearance on the Hope for Haiti telethon, she arrived on the Grammy Red Carpet looking every bit the diva she is in a fuschia Gucci gown. I do wish she had gone with a different color for her Gucci clutch, but the Lorraine Schwartz jewelry is a great compliment to the gown.

'To Haiti With Love' from the CFDA

I love it when the fashion world does good.

The CFDA has announced that they will partner with Theory to manufacture a t-shirt to help support Haiti in the aftermath of the 7.0 earthquake that wrecked the country in mid-January.

The t-shirt will sell for $25 with proceeds benefitting the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. No word on how much of the proceeds will actually go to the relief effort, but I still congratulate the CFDA for making an effort and will definitely pick one up.

The t-shirt will be available on February 12th at Theory stores nationwide and online at http://www.cfda.com/.

The announcement from the CFDA is only the latest Haiti relief effort project launched by the fashion industry. Last week Alexis Bittar donated 100% of the purchase prices from jewelry bought online to earthquake relief and H&M matched Unicef donations made at their stores. What a wonderful world we live in when you can shop for good!

Style Moments | 2010 Golden Globes

Admittedly, I didn't watch the Golden Globes last night. I know, I know ... how could I possibly miss the first Red Carpet event of the season?!? Luckily I have the glorious internet and the E! channel to catch me up on the most important coverage of the evening - fashion.

There were varying shades of blue, some striking black ensembles and a sea of umbrellas. However, these five ladies stood out of the crowd for me as the best dressed of the night.

Chloe Sevigny
Chloe is the leader of the pack when it comes to being fashion-forward, but I think she looked classically beautiful in this ruffled Valentino dress. I was so upset to hear that someone ripped it during the show! The look was accessorized with a Roger Vivier clutch and Stephen Russell vintage jewelry.

Penelope Cruz
Always the Red Carpet darling, Penelope looked fantastic in Giorgio Armani Prive and Chopard diamonds. The spanish style lace bodice is gorgeous and the dress shows off her figure perfectly. I also loved that she carried her own umbrella. Just beautiful!

Jimmy Choo Launches 24/7 Collection

I always get excited when I see a Jimmy Choo envelope in my mailbox and the envelope I received today contained a lookbook for the CHOO 24/7 Spring 2010 collection. *swoon*

Announced in September and premiered during Milan Fashion Week, CHOO 24/7 is a capsule collection designed to take you from day to evening, every day of the week. Made up of classic Jimmy Choo styles with a modern twist, there are options for any occasion you can think of - brunch with the girls, a gallery opening or black tie wedding.

The collection is broken down into seven categories - the 'Icons', 'Perfect Platforms', the 'Perfect Pointy-toe Pump', the 'Perfect Round-toe Pump', the 'Perfect Wedge', the 'Perfect Flat' and the 'Perfect Evening' - each with four styles available in different fabrics and colors.

I've been a Choo girl for a few years now and have several favorites from this collection. My top choices are the Glenys gladiator sandal, the Private strappy sandal and the Connor wedge ... all classics that can fit into any wardrobe.

I'm definitely in looove. *sigh* Putting some pennies aside so that I can pick up at least one of the above before they sell out, but I won't freak out if they do. Word on the street is that the 24/7 collection will live season-to-season with subtle changes to the texture or color of each style of shoe. So if you can't pick up a pair of nude patent-leather Private sandals for Spring, you may find them in tan suede for Fall.

You can find the CHOO 24/7 collection in Jimmy Choo boutiques and high-end department stores this month.
